The US Scout Law

In 1910 when the US Boy Scouts was formed, the orginizers were so taken with Lord Baden-Powell's belive that duty to God was a fundamental part of what Boy Scouts was about that the took they statement from the Scout promise, duty to God, and added it to the Scout Law as well in the for of Reverent.

The form of the US Scout Law is quite different than most of the other countries. The US Scout Law is just a list of words. Some countries repeat the words, "A Scout is" in front of each item, while others have more explanations associated with each point of the law.

The US version of the Scout Law has become something that most boys can repeat in a single breath.
